An app designed for the social good

Fishers of Men (FOM) is a dedicated mobile app and responsive website designed for the social good.

Fishers of Men is a Christian social networking platform that helps connect people all over the world.

A unique feature of this app is:

  • A church finder that helps the user find the nearest church to them.

  • A review tool that users can refer to when they want to know what people think about a certain church (following strict community guidelines of course!).

  • A community platform that will help them form fellowship; online or virtual.

Project duration: August 2023  to October 2023

USER RESEARCH

competitive audit for website and apps

COMPETITIVE AUDIT

An audit of a few competitor’s products provided direction on gaps and opportunities to address with the Fishers of Men app.

SKETCHING WIREFRAMES, IDEATION

IDEATION

I did a quick ideation exercise to come up with ideas for how to address gaps identified in the competitive audit. My focus was specifically on relationship building and tracking Christian churches.

DIGITAL WIREFRAMES

After ideating and drafting some paper wireframes, I created the initial designs for the Fishers of Men app. These designs focused on showing users how to find church locations based on their area and socialize with other users who are using the same app.

MOCK UP

Based on the insights from the usability studies, I applied design changes like providing a clear section, adding colors, and creating better shapes for buttons to show a call-to-action.

Additional design changes included integrating a Google Maps feature at the bottom of the screen and adding a search bar to make it easier for users to track and find churches near them.

The high-fidelity prototype followed the same user flow as the low-fidelity prototype, including design changes made after the usability study.
